Our campus is a historical landmark modernized with the facilities and infrastructure for the demands of today’s K-12 education.
Safety and security for students and staff is a top priority at Grace Christian School. We take this priority very seriously. With the assistance of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and other third party security consultants, we are continually evaluating and devising policies, procedures and tools to ensure the security of our campus without compromise.
Our team works hard to develop the best solutions to meet the growing demand for K-12 Christian education in Sanford, NC. Our top priority is to provide excellence in education, in a safe environment, with the area’s absolute best teachers, accredited programming for today’s educational needs, and well-equipped facilities.
Now at 36 acres, over recent years Grace Ministries has been able to extend our property to the north and east in preparation for future growth.
We prayerfully seek God’s guidance for every campus and facility expansion so that we may meet the community demand, continue to improve our offerings, and keep GCS tuition affordable for all.
With increased demands for online learning on campus, Grace Ministries underwent a major internet infrastructure expansion in 2020 in order to ensure our network could support the increased demand for connections and bandwidth. Because of this upgrade, we are able to support our move to a 1:1 device to student ratio where every student (and teacher) is able to comfortably operate online while on campus.
Home to Grace Chapel Church, our main building features our shared church and school sanctuary, choir and music rooms, sound and media production room, administrative offices, student classrooms, and care rooms for our Child Development Center. Our Welcome Center is located just inside our front doors including Risen Grounds Coffee Bar, managed by our Grace Café team with full service and freshly-made coffee drinks and breakfast items.
Our most historic building, the original Grace’s Chapel is now the home to our Kindergarten program. Our new Kindergarteners love the warm, homey atmosphere of this building! Complete with expansive Centers, Library Room and an outdoor learning space; our young students have lots of opportunities to explore, learn and grow!
Our Elementary School Building is one of our recent expansions, featuring nine large classrooms, Learning Support space, and administrative offices. This building is home to our first through third grade students and teachers.
Our Middle School Building features six large classrooms, two of which include fully-equipped, state-of-the-art science labs. The building includes lockers, restroom facilities and a snack cart exclusively for our Middle School students. Just outside the building is a common area with picnic tables where students enjoy the occasional outdoor class or free time break.
The Grace Café is a 4000 square foot dining facility including a full commercial kitchen and banquet dining hall. Covered walkways are available from our Main Building and Gymnasium so students can reach the café comfortably even during inclement weather.
Our gymnasium is named after Dr. Brian Torgerson, for his dedication, love, generosity and passion for the ministry of Grace Christian School.
The gym includes a full-sized court and locker rooms used by our basketball and volleyball teams, as well as a weight room for athletic training and middle and high school Weightlifting courses. Gym events are always more enjoyable with hot food and snacks served from our concessions kitchen, located at the front of the gym. Upstairs features a fully-equipped science lab for our high school students, a STEM lab for elementary and middle school students, and an infirmary where our Health & Wellness Team care for students’ health and wellness.
Our campus includes multiple outdoor spaces that are used for outside class time, outdoor P.E., and elementary recess. Our fenced elementary playground features a variety of age-appropriate equipment and sand footing. Our older elementary students enjoy our outdoor basketball court, as well as a large field for casual kickball or football games. Groups of picnic tables are stages at various locations across campus, either under pavilion or umbrella.
Our main campus includes a regulation-size high school soccer field and baseball diamond. Both fields were professionally installed and are of the finest in the county thanks to the efforts of our Athletics Crusader Club and Corporate Sponsors. Both fields include WIFI and bleachers for spectators as well as easy access to our gym concessions and restroom facilities. New scoreboards were recently installed on both fields thanks to those Crusader Family-Owned Businesses represented on each scoreboard. Our baseball diamond includes a warning track, brick dugouts and a batting cage / bullpen.
Our softball field is located just a few miles north of our main campus at the American Legion Field. We are honored to have recently renovated this field for both our Veterans and our players, to include new fencing, brick backstops, bleachers, dugouts, sod and irrigation system. The facility also features lights for night games and practices, WIFI and a batting cage. We are excited about the future of our Softball Program with plans for a softball field on our main campus!
With more than 36 acres, our Cross Country teams find a home cross country course right here on campus. Our teams also travel to various parks and courses throughout our area for longer runs on varied terrain that continue to develop and challenge their skills.
Although our students don’t utilize our maintenance facilities, they are an extremely important part of the GCS campus! Grace employs a multi-person maintenance, grounds, janitorial and transportation team who is responsible for the grounds, vehicles, cleaning, facility maintenance, as well as improvement projects. They are a talented group who’s care for and dedication to the welfare of your students never goes unnoticed. Our team operates out of our Maintenance Garage located on the south end of our property. The team is typically helping direct our carlines, so be sure to give them a wave of appreciation.
