The Aubrey Renee and Walker Wayne Buchanan Scholarship was created to honor the lives of two beloved Grace Christian School students who were tragically killed in a plane crash.
Their memory lives on through this scholarship, which exists to support families within our Grace community.

This endowment provides scholarship assistance for students attending Grace Christian School, with a special preference for families working in agriculture — those whose hard work and dedication are foundational to our community.
The initial gift of $25,000 to endow the scholarship has been generously provided by the leadership of Grace Christian School in order to demonstrate our perpetual commitment to honor the memory of Aubrey and Walker.
Each additional contribution helps ensure that access to a Grace education remains possible for families who need it most.

The Aubrey Renee and Walker Wayne Buchanan Scholarship endowment is open to tax-deductible contributions from anyone, in any amount, at any time. Donations may be made online, or by check to the Aubrey Renee and Walker Wayne Buchanan Scholarship at Grace Christian School and mailed to North Carolina Community Foundation, 3737 Glenwood Ave. Suite 460, Raleigh, NC 27612.
Applications for the Buchanan Scholarship are closed for the 2026/27 school year. We look forward to welcoming applicants next year to continue the legacy of hope and opportunity this scholarship was created to provide.
