GCS Summer 2022 Enrichment & Athletic Camps

GCS Summer Enrichment & Athletic Camps are half-day camps open to all community students, including those not enrolled at Grace Christian School. GCS camps offer athletic, academic, STEM, art and enrichment programs that cover a wide variety of activities and interests.

With staggered offerings throughout the summer, we have something that can fit your calendar and your student’s interests! Enrichment and athletic camps run for four or five days each, generally from 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm. (Extended Care is available before and after camp for working parents.) Camps are typically grouped by grade, (i.e. K-2nd, 3rd-5th) based on the grade your student will be rising into in the Fall. Because we have to plan ahead for staffing, facilities and supplies, all camp registration fess are non-refundable.

GCS Cheerleaders are ready to teach your little ladies all the basics of cheerleading, including motions, jumps, stunts, routines, and even dance moves. Together, we will learn the importance of team bonding, building trust and confidence, listening to our leaders, working together as a team, and developing leadership skills! All cheerleaders should be dressed in athletic clothes and shoes with their hair pulled up in a ponytail each day. They should also bring their own water bottle.
Poms, bows, and t-shirts will be provided for cheerleaders to keep.

This camp allows softball players in second through sixth grade to learn, develop and enhance their skills in all phases of softball. Our coaches provide the opportunity to become a better softball player through daily drills focused around the fundamentals of the game….hitting, throwing, fielding, base running, infield/outfield skills and game situation. This camp will take place at the Grace Softball Field that is located at American Legion Post #382 located at 305 Legion Dr. Sanford, NC 27330

Crusader Volleyball takes the energy and excitement of volleyball and puts it all together in one fun-filled camp! All aspects of the game are taught through drills and exercises that focus on passing, setting, hitting, serving, agility, and reaction time. This camp is designed for the beginner to intermediate player and will incorporate essential life lessons such as teamwork and sportsmanship. Our volleyball staff will assist each athlete in developing the fundamental skills of the game through game-based drills and daily scrimmages aimed at developing the whole player. Athletes will learn the importance of teamwork and communication. This session will be for rising 3rd-6th graders that have little to no experience. We aim to get them excited about the sport while focusing on developing beginning skills that will encourage confidence during game play. Please make sure your athlete wears athletic clothing and shoes and has a pair of volleyball knee pads. Athletes should wear their hair in a ponytail and bring their own water bottle.

This is the elite-level camp, which is designed to train high potential student-athletes in skills required to be successful at the next level. We put a high emphasis on skill development, competition, education and high repetition. This camp offers INTENSE training, in position techniques and some team systems. It is a great opportunity for athletes to experience the BEST training. Minimum 1 year club experience preferred.

This 6th grade Step Up Camp will serve to help prepare students for the transition to middle school during a time where they feel all is new! Not only will there be a focus on changing classes, study strategies, locker, working with different teachers, taking notes, and peer pressure, it will also focus on a review of English Language Arts and Math concepts. These will include and are not limited to: using fractions and applying/understandings of multiplication and division; as well as paragraph writing and reading comprehension. Lunch will be provided on Wednesday and a trip to the coffee bar on Friday.

Grace CDC General Summer Camp

Grace also offers a general Summer Camp through our Child Development Center. The CDC Summer Camp is an uplifting day camp program that provides a physically and spiritually safe environment where campers can learn, play, and grow. Campers have unique experiences that they will remember for the rest of their lives! The CDC Summer Camp Program is available for rising Kindergarteners and up, and typically operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. for the entire summer and includes lunch from our Grace Café.

A non-refundable application fee is due at the time of registration. Students can be registered by the day, week or for the entire summer! Camp tuition includes the cost of all field trips, a prepared hot breakfast and lunch, and an afternoon snack.
