Students will plan, rehearse, and produce the middle school chapel’s praise and worship musical production. The instruments, vocals, sound, lighting, PowerPoint, and camerawork will all be student-led.

A tradition physical education program promoting the fitness and physical development of each student. This class will meet in the gym and on the soccer field throughout the year.

Attends One Hope Assembly of God in Sanford

Students will learn various art styles and techniques each month based on our artist of the month, while learning the history behind each artist’s work. This semester, students will review shading and blending techniques, and various painting styles will be introduced. Students will also complete an acrylic project, a watercolor landscape painting, various abstract projects, and much more.

Attends Grace Chapel Church in Sanford

Students will learn about plants and their role in the environment through interactive lectures in both indoor and outdoor settings.  Applied techniques; emphasis on care and maintenance of plant material, greenhouse structures, and display garden areas. Involves student with hands-on practical experience of growing and care of selected plants. Aesthetics of planning, design and planting; develop a basic understanding of plant nutrition fundamentals. Students will conduct independent learning through making their own collections and observations.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern Wesleyan University.

Pre-grad coursework in plant biology, biochemistry,  local flora, medicinal plants from North Carolina State University.

Attends Grace Chapel Church in Sanford.

A survey and study in entrepreneurship and business concepts. Students will produce, market, sell, and manage the revenues of a product, and receive a portion of the profits, while learning how real business works.

Attends Gourd Springs Baptist Church in Spring Lake

Students will receive direct instruction for decoding, spelling, and understanding multisyllabic words through vocabulary building with prefixes, suffixes, and roots. The purpose of the course is to address these specific areas to build spelling and reading skills through a systematic progression of areas at the word level. In addition, word structure and spelling patterns will be taught.

Students will produce and perform their own adaption of the Wizard of Oz. Acting, sound, lighting, camerawork, stage production, set design and ushering will all be student led
This course will focus on current skills as well as reteach and review foundational math skills.

Student will develop their own unique style of art. Projects will be based on the artist of the month, and students will learn the history of each artist through projects that students will complete. Projects will include acrylic canvas painting, self-portraits, watercolor cityscape painting, and more.

 

Pre-Approved students participate in projects that emphasize higher learning and bring out their gifted potential.

Similar to the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) except that it is fully funded by schools that choose to pursue a JROTC unit without financial assistance from the Department of Defense. The class is designed to give students an appreciation for the origin, advantages and responsibilities of citizenship in our country, to develop in students an understanding of good leadership skills and the advantages of strong moral character, to promote in the students an understanding for the need and application of our national security, and to develop in students a sense of pride and direction in their maturity and personal discipline.

This course provides the student with the opportunity to learn and develop the basic rules and skills of volleyball, offensive and defensive skills. Students will learn basic volleyball rules and skills, gain fundamental knowledge of physiological principles, and develop an individualized program based upon the student’s goals, emphasizing muscle strength, muscle endurance, muscle size, and muscle flexibility.

The Concert Band is designed to provide students with an advancing experience on band instruments.

Students will develop skills in analysis, evaluation and synthesis to be able to experience and understand the aesthetics of music and achieve instrumental competency, as well as gain a proficient level of reading music.

A study of the essential principles of evangelism and discipleship as they relate to biblical methods of outreach and spiritual growth within the local church. Practical instruction is given about the tools of evangelism and discipleship techniques. Students will gain ministry experience through in-class and out-of-class opportunities.

Serves as Lead Pastor at Ministerios Bethel Church in Sanford

Through on-field practice and scrimmage, conditioning drills, and classroom film study, students will gain a better understanding of the game, and develop the skills necessary for success on the diamond.

Students must provide their own glove and helmet.
