Cross Country

Every single one of our runners had a career PR this year, some of them improving hugely. It was great to see 8th graders and seniors alike, take several minutes off their time from the first meet to the last. We had two runners who consistently placed in the top; Madi Stubbs led the girls and Jon Ehresman led the boys. Overall the team’s teamwork and dedication was inspiring to watch. The boy’s team placed in the top five in several meets.  Our Women’s team was too small to score but it did not stop them from running their hardest and having fun.

Golf

The Women’s Varsity Golf Team continued in their progression in 2024, placing 4th in regular season rankings which is our highest finish as a team to date. Each season the team has moved up the NCISAA rankings.

Although we lost 6 players from our 2023 roster, we ended up adding 6 new players to the roster this season who were all eager to be part of the team.

We had 3 players qualify for states, 8th grader Raelan Fields finishing 18th, 8th grader Julia Gamez finishing 22nd and junior Abby Carville finishing 25th.

We are excited about the future of our program and the progression that all of our players are making each year. Although the season just ended we can’t wait to get the 2025 season underway.

Volleyball

This volleyball season marked a time of transformation for our program. We challenged our players to reshape the culture, emphasizing teamwork, dedication, and a commitment to excellence both on and off the court. The athletes embraced this challenge wholeheartedly, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie, hard work, and mutual support. One of the most rewarding aspects of coaching this group is the caliber of individuals we get to work with—they’re not only talented athletes but also outstanding young people. This combination makes every practice, game, and shared experience truly fulfilling.

Middle School B Team

The Middle School B team showed remarkable growth and tenacity throughout the season. At the start, many players were still finding their rhythm and learning the fundamentals, but as the season progressed, their confidence and skills blossomed. The transformation was impressive; their teamwork, communication, and game strategies improved with each match. They ended the season on a high note, securing a three-game winning streak that highlighted their progress and determination. Watching this team grow was a privilege, and their success is a testament to their hard work and positive attitude.

Middle School A Team

Record: 9-4

The Middle School A team stood out as a group brimming with potential. These players were enthusiastic about learning and consistently pushed themselves to get better, both in skill and in understanding the game. Their record of 9-4 reflects their hard work and resilience. Even in the matches they lost, they kept the games competitive and engaging, demonstrating their potential and passion. This team has a bright future, and we’re excited to see how they continue to develop in the years to come. Their sportsmanship and dedication make them a team to keep an eye on as they advance.

Junior Varsity (JV) Team

Record: 14-1

This year’s JV team brought a special energy to the court, combining raw talent with a hunger for growth. From the first practice, it was clear that these players had the drive and willingness to put in the work necessary to reach the next level. Their season record of 14-1 is a testament to their focus and discipline. The purpose of the JV team is to build players who are ready for Varsity, and this group embraced that mission, showing growth in their technical skills, strategic understanding, and mental resilience. They have set a high standard for future JV teams, and we’re incredibly proud of their achievements and their readiness to take on bigger challenges.

Varsity Team

Record: 15-8

The Varsity team this year was a young but talented group that faced new challenges, including adapting to a new coaching approach. Initially, we weren’t sure how the team would come together, but as the season unfolded, the players proved their adaptability, skill, and grit. Every practice brought visible improvements, and by mid-season, they were playing with confidence and cohesion. The team took on tough competitors in our conference, and I always entered matches with the belief that we had a real shot at winning if we played our best. Their 15-8 record is an impressive accomplishment, especially given their youth and the adjustments they had to make. Watching this team grow and compete was a joy, and I am immensely proud of each player for their perseverance and dedication. Their future is bright, and I have no doubt they’ll continue to excel in the seasons ahead.

Each team, from Middle School to Varsity, has shown not only skill but a shared commitment to building a positive culture and pushing each other to be the best they can be. This season was about more than just wins and losses; it was about laying a foundation for a strong, unified program built on respect, effort, and pride. I am grateful for the opportunity to coach these remarkable athletes, and I look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.

Soccer

Our Men’s 2024 soccer season ended with a record of 7 wins and 7 losses.  The crusaders had an injury-plagued year at several key positions which led to some inconsistent play this season.  The crusader boys had key wins versus 4 of the top 10 teams in their 3A NCISAA class, advanced to the 2nd round of state playoffs with a big OT win against Concord Academy only to come up short versus St. David’s.  The crusaders were lead offensively by juniors Colton Weiant, ranked #15 in the NCISAA 3A division with 12 goals, 5 assist and Rylan Rosenfeld, ranked #25 in the NCISAA 3A with 11 goals as well as Sophomore Caden Rosenfeld who had 7 goals and 5 assists.  Our defense was led and anchored by 4 year varsity starters seniors Barrett Bullard and Luke Garris who will be graduating and moving onto college, and junior Brayden Waller.  The Crusaders will be losing 5 seniors Luke Garris, Barrett Bullard, Kaleb Smith, Hunter Young and Andrew Garcia.
