Grace Christian School is excited to announce the addition of Rob Wooten to the Crusaders’ Baseball Staff.  Wooten will serve as the Senior Baseball Advisor and will work in conjunction with the Varsity Head Coach, Mike Matson, in overseeing and developing the baseball program.  In addition to a successful career playing professionally; Rob has over a decade of coaching experience at the High School, Collegiate and Professional levels.  Wooten will be responsible for developing growth and goal plans for Crusader baseball student-athletes.

Rob’s responsibilities will be working alongside the Head Baseball Coach in developing and implementing training programs that will both enhance the players skill level as well as better equipping players for their transition into playing at the collegiate level. In addition, he will help to evaluate and provide feedback to players at the middle and junior varsity levels regarding areas of growth and focus. For players with aspirations beyond high school, Wooten’s area of focus will be connecting players to interested college coaches and helping players to become desired targets of college recruiters. Having such a valuable resource of an experienced liaison, like Rob Wooten, is a resource most high school programs could only hope for.

Grace Athletic Director, Nate Rhine, has this to say, “Having Rob here at Grace and coming alongside our coaching staff to help develop Player Growth Strategies for the next steps in their baseball careers is a blessing. Our program has experienced success over the years, but we believe this will help take our baseball program and our players to the next level. Rob’s level of experience and expertise further helps our program and players have the best track for success, regardless of their goals. Our Athletic Department could not be more excited about this hire and the future of the Crusader Baseball Program.”

Rob Wooten had the following to say about this new position with the Grace Christian Crusaders, “I cannot overstate how excited I am to accept this role. Faith, family and baseball are at the core of what’s most important to me and the ministry of Grace Christian School combines all of those pillars. On February 13th of this year, I was baptized at Grace Chapel Church. Now, here I am joining the Grace family in another capacity. I look forward to this opportunity and all the contributions my family and I can make.”

The Crusaders begin their quest for a State Championship on Saturday home at Grace. Their opponent is TDB. Regardless of the opponent, game time is set for 1:00 PM.
