What a wonderful way to begin the 2026–2027 school year!

Our first Upper School Chapel was such a special time of worship, fellowship, and encouragement. We are so proud of our student-led worship team for using their gifts to lead their classmates and teachers in worship. What an incredible blessing it is to see our students boldly using their talents to glorify the Lord!

Our student worship team’s involvement included:

  • Callie McHarney led us in “Mighty Name of Jesus”
  • Greyson Ring led “Breakthrough”
  • Grace Boyte led “Great Are You Lord”

Mr. Shumway brought our first chapel message of the year from John 13 & 14. He reminded our students that as Jesus prepared His disciples for what was ahead, He gave them some of the most important directions they could ever receive. Those same directions are just as important for us today:

  • Don’t Be Troubled!
This year, plenty of things can cause worry, fear, disappointment, or uncertainty. Jesus reminds us that our confidence doesn’t have to come from our circumstances… We can trust Him!
  • Jesus Is Preparing a Home…  A Place for His People.
Jesus reminded His disciples that this world is not the end of the story. He is preparing a place for those who have placed their trust in Him. Our hope is bigger than what happens today, this week, or even this school year. We can have an eternal home and an eternal hope in Christ.
  • Jesus Is the Way…  Trust and Hold Onto Him in Everything.
Jesus declared, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”(John 14:6) When we don’t know what to do, when life gets difficult, when friendships change, when school becomes challenging, or when we face decisions about our future, hold onto Jesus. He is the Way!

What a great challenge for all of us as we begin this school year: Grab onto Jesus and Don’t let go!  Grab onto Him through the ups and downs.  Grab onto Him through your assignments and tests.  Grab onto Him in your social life.  Grab onto Him on the fields and courts. Grab onto Him and place all your trust in Jesus, and in 10,000 years we will be together singing the name of Jesus!
