The Learning Specialist supports middle and high school students with learning strategies, organization, and study skills; provides individual instruction as assigned.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Seek to role model in attitude, speech, and action a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support/instruction for students, both in push-in and pull-out environments
  • Make regular assessments of student achievement and progress
  • Report regularly on student achievement and progress
  • Attend Parent-Teacher Conferences, or individually with parents to discuss learner progress with parents, as required
  • Read and summarize all Psych-Ed evaluations for Middle and Upper School and for Admissions as necessary
  • Assist with the writing of individual learning plans (ILPs) that will target pupils’ specific curricular/learning needs

Qualifications

  • Committed Christ-follower
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to develop and sustain a culture of knowledge sharing, accountability and appreciation
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing
