On April 26, 2022, Grace Christian School hosted a legacy funding event and celebration of our Grace champions – those who invest their time, talents, resources and prayer into the mission, vision, students and staff of Grace Christian School.

The 1st Annual Night of Champions was a night to share what God has done through Grace Christian School during the past twelve months as we honor the past, cultivate the current and forecast for the future.

Honoring the Past, Cultivating the Current & Forecasting for the Future

Night of Champions

The 1st Annual Night of Champions Legacy Funding Event was a clear testament that God is forming a cloud of witnesses for Grace Christian School. We couldn’t be more inspired. Lee County and beyond is speaking loud and clear — quality Christian education is a priority for families today and for future generations.

Honoring the Past

Grace Christian School is what it is today because of the tireless service and selfless investments of previous generations. This year, we have established the Allan Delano Strickland Service Award and the Samuel J Wornam III Legacy Award in honor of two individuals who have made lasting impacts on our school and our students.

The first recipient of the Allan Delano Strickland Service Award went to the honoree of whom the award is named, Allan Strickland.

The Samuel J Wornom III Legacy Award was established in honor and memory of Sam Wornom, and an award gift was presented to his wife, Sandra and daughters Lesley and Laurie. The first recipients of this award were Jeff & Beth Yow and Charlie & Debbie Welborn.

Cultivating the Current

Thank you to the 250 in attendance, and to our event sponsors who provided for the event costs. The generous support of our sponsors allowed for all funds raised to go directly to the mission of Grace Christian School.

One of the many evening highlights was hearing directly from students and recent graduates about how GCS has impacted their lives. The stories undoubtedly stirred feelings of gratitude among the GCS parents in the audience. Those parents were then asked to think back to the day they decided to enroll their children at Grace and imagine if they had been told, “Sorry, there’s no room.”

That’s what many parents desiring quality Christian education for their children are facing today. It’s up to us to provide for the next generation.

Forecasting for the Future

God is growing Lee County and has placed the blessing and responsibility on Grace Christian School to provide quality Christian education for the families moving here. To do that, GCS will be embarking on capital campaign for a major expansion. Please watch for details and prayerfully consider how you can invest in our mission.
